6. Remove the Input Shaft Assembly.
7. Disassemble the Input Shaft Assembly.
NOTE: The Input Shaft might be a little swollen at the dou-
ble D, preventing the bushing and collar from slid-
ing off. If necessary, file down the swollen area
until the bushing clears.
8. Inspect the shaft, bushings, pin and collar. If there are
any signs of wear or damage, replace the affected
part(s).
9. Remove the Output Shaft, washers and Worm Gear.
NOTE: There is a washer on each side of the Worm Gear.
Sometimes the washers stick to the housing when
they are separated.
10. Slide the Worm Gear off of the Output Shaft.
11. Inspect the shaft, key and gear. If there are any signs
of wear or damage, replace the affected part(s).
