Connectingthemachine
Pushplug(1)intothereceptacle(2)attheright
endofthemachine. Thenconnectplug(3)to
yoursocketoutlet.
ForNorthAmerica
This appliancehasapolarizedplug(oneblade
wider than the other). To reduce the risk of
electric shock, this plug is i n t e n d e d t o f i t i n a
polarizedoutletonlyoneway.
Iftheplugdoesnotfitfullyintheoutlet,reverse
theplug.Ifitstilldoesnotfit,contactaqualified
electrician t o i n s t a l l t h e p r o p e r o u t l e t . D o n o t
modifythepluginanyway.
Runningthemachine
To turn on machine and sewing light, press
upperportion "I" ofpowerswitch(4).Toturnoff
machine andlight,presslowerportion
powerswitch.
Torunthemachineandcontrolspeed,pressthe
footcontrol(5)withyourfoot.Theharderyou
press,thefasterthemachinewillsew.Tostop
machine,removefootfromcontrol.
Choosing and changing
needles
Important: Forbestresults from yoursewing
machine,useonly needles.Checkthe
needle package, and the Fabric, Thread and
NeedleTableonpage16,forthecorrectneedle
andfabriccombination.
•Raiseneedletoitshighestposition.
• Loosen needle clamp screw and remove
needle.
•Withflatsideofneedletotheback,insertnew
needleupintoclampasfarasitwillgo.
•Tightenneedleclampscrewsecurely.

La fréquence decette opération dépend d e l a
fréquence d'utilisation. Les indications ci-
dessous sont données pour une utilisation
régulièreplusieursfoisparsemaine.
Si vous utilisez votre machine chaque jour,
graissez-laplussouventqu'indiqué.
Environ une fois par an, graissez toutes les
pièces en mouvement, comme illustré, pour
conserver la souplesse au mécanisme et
protéter les pièces métalliques d'une usure
excessive.
Pour bien situer les pièces nécessitant un
graissage,tournezlevolantàlamainversvous
aprèsavoirretirélaplaquedeface.
Pourgraisser,n'utilisez quedel'huileSINGER*.
Elleaétéspécialementraffinéeetnecontientpas
de dépôt pouvant nuire au fonctionnement de
précisiondumécanisme.
