Answering system settings
To delete your outgoing announcement:
1. When the handset is in idle mode, press MENU/
main menu.
2. Press qCID or pDIR to scroll to >Answering sys, then press

/SELECT again to select >Announcement. The

system announces, "To play, press 2. To record, press 7."
4. Press 3 to delete your recorded announcement.
When your announcement is deleted, the system answers
calls with the default announcement described on the
previous page.

Answer on/off

Unless you change it, the answering system is on and ready to record
messages. You can turn the answering system off, but if you do so, the
answering system does not answer calls and record incoming messages.
To turn the answering system on or off:
Using the telephone base:
Press
/ANSWER ON
or off. If the answering system is turned on, it announces,
"Calls will be answered." If the answering system is turned
off, it announces, "Calls will not be answered."
Using a handset:
1. When the handset is in idle mode, press MENU/
enter the main menu.
2. Press qCID or pDIR to scroll to >Answering sys, then
press
/SELECT.

3. Press qCID or pDIR to scroll to >Answer ON/OFF, then
press
/SELECT.

4. Press qCID or pDIR to highlight On and Off, then press
/SELECT to confirm the setting. You hear a confirmation

tone. Press
If the answering system is on, the handset screen shows
ANS ON.
NOTE: If the answering system is off and there is an incoming call, the
system answers after 10 rings and announces, "Please enter your remote access code."
