How to select the reception mode

Select the reception mode to match the usage. You can determine which is the best reception
mode to select by answering the following questions.
What is this machine
being used for?
A For a fax only.
B For a fax, phone, and answering machine.
How are faxes received?
A Answering the phone, receive the fax
manually.
B Not answering the phone, receive the
fax automatically.
What are the phone and
fax usage frequencies?
A The fax is used most often.
B The phone is used most often.

Basic Settings (Setting Mode)
Auto receiving for fax only
(Fax ready mode)
●Faxes are automatically received, but the phone can
be answered when it rings.
Primarily using the phone
(Tel ready mode)
●Sets the priority to recieving calls, not faxes.
▲Faxes cannot be received when no one is in.
Receiving a phone call with priority
given to fax
(see page 3-41)
(Fax/Tel ready mode-Fax priority)
●The machine will quietly receive a fax without
ringing.
▲Remains in the fax reception mode for a while after
a call comes in. Therefore when it is a phone call,
the other party is made to wait, and the calling
party will accrue phone charges.
Auto receiving with priority given
to the phone

(Tel/Fax ready mode-Phone priority)
●The reception mode is entered when the phone rings
to keep down the phone charges of the calling party
when it is a phone call while also receiving faxes
automatically.
▲When there is a phone call and the phone rings
more than the preset number of times, the calling
party will be subject to phone charges even if no one
is in.
Using both the answering machine
and fax

(Ans/Fax ready mode)
When it is a phone call, the answering machine
message is played, and when it is a fax, the fax is
automatically received.
