Testa cilindro

Disincrostare la camera di combustione.
Controllare la superficie spianata della testa cilindro con un regolo
di riscontro e uno spessimetro, effettuando la lettura della distorsio-
ne nei punti indicati in figura. Se la lettura supera, in un qualsiasi
punto, il limite di servizio, rettificare il piano di appoggio sul cilindro.
Distorsione testa: limite di servizio 0,05 mm.

Cylinder head

Remove carbon deposits from the combustion chamber.
Checked the machined surfaces of the cylinder head using a
straight edge and a feeler gauge taking readings at the paints
shown in the figure. If the reading at any point is greater than the
limit prescribed then regrind the contact surface with the cylinder.
Cylinder head distortion limit:0.0019 in.

Ripresa sede valvola

Pulire le valvole da incrostazioni e depositi. Applicare del "Blu di
Prussia" alla valvola e ruotarla contro la sede con un tubo di gom-
ma o con altro attrezzo similare.
Togliere la valvola e misurare la larghezza "X" della superficie di
contatto. Se detta larghezza fosse superiore a 1,5 mm, la sede
dovrà essere ripassata.
La larghezza standard della superficie di contatto della sede è
A = 0,7÷1,0 mm per l'ASPIRAZIONE e
A = 0,9÷1,0 per lo SCARICO.
La valvola non può essere molata pertanto, se fosse
danneggiata, è necessario sostituirla.

Recutting the valve seats

Clean carbon and deposits from the valves. Apply some "mechanic
blueing dye" to the valve face and lap it against the seat with a
suitable lapping tool. Remove the valve and measure the width "X"
of the contact surface. If the width exceeds 0.06 in. the seat should
be recut.
Standard width of the contact surface is
A = 0.0275÷0,0394 in. for the INTAKE and
A = 0,0354÷0,0394 in. for the EXHAUST.
The valve can not be ground. If the valve is damaged
replace the valve.
