USING THE START/STOP FUNCTION
This function temporarily turns off the engine when the vehicle is at a
standstill and restarts it as soon as driving resumes. This function is
activated each time the engine is started.
Auto-stopping the engine
– Apply the brakes to stop the vehicle and maintain pressure on
the brake pedal. The brake pedal can be released if the auto-hold
function is activated.
The indicator in the tachometer in the instrument panel will point
toward
when the engine is auto-stopped. If the Comfort or
Eco drive modes are activated, the engine can be auto-stopped
before the vehicle comes to a complete standstill.
Auto-starting the engine
– Release the brake pedal. If auto-hold is activated, press the accel-
erator pedal.
– On downslopes: Release the brake pedal and let the vehicle begin
to roll. The engine will auto-start after a slight increase in speed.
– If Adaptive Cruise Control* or Pilot Assist* are activated, press
the accelerator pedal or press
keypad.
