Using basic functions
Taking photographs

Press the n button to turn
on the camera.

When the camera is turned on, the
monitor will turn on.

Set the mode dial to P.

Frame the shot.
The viewfinder turns on and the monitor
turns off automatically when you put
your eye to the viewfinder.
• When holding the camera, take care
not to cover the flash, microphone
or other important parts with your
fingers, etc.
You can also shoot with viewing the back monitor. g "Shooting through the

Using the zoom
Turning the zoom lever adjusts the shooting range.

Press the shutter button
halfway down to focus.
The camera was unable to focus if
the AF target mark flashes red. Try
focusing again.

To take the picture, gently press the
shutter button all the way down while
being careful not to shake the camera.
• If the display in the viewfinder looks blurry, look through the viewfinder and rotate the
diopter adjustment dial (P. 5) until the display is in sharp focus.
• You can also take photographs using the touch screen.
