4.4 Gas connection

Figure 10 Gas connection
The pipe diameter is to be determined according to the
applicable local prescriptions as regards the connection
value of the gas-fired hot water cylinder. The gas section
has 2 entries 1 and 2 allowing the connection from below
as well as from the left side.
• Connect the gas feed to entry 1 or 2
• Close the entry not used with an appropriate plug
which has to be screwed in to the stop
• Mount gas shut-off valve in the gas feed
• Check soundness of all connections
Before the connection, thoroughly purge the gas
feed in order to prevent foreign matters such as
impurities, working residues, sealing matters
from entering the gas section.

4.5 Water connection

The atmoSTOR can be connected using all installation
materials according to DIN 1988.
• Check and purge the whole water pipework to be con-
nected
• Mount the cold water feed 1 with the necessary safety
devices 2: water supply pressure at the installation site
below 4,8 bar: use type-approved safety group DN 20
(accessory 660).
water supply pressure at the installation site excee-
ding 4,8 bar: use type-approved safety group DN 20
with pressure reducer (accessory 661)
• The position of the safety valve must ensure good access
so that it can be vented during the operation. If possi-
ble, mount it above the cylinder. The installation of the
safety valve must be such that persons cannot be en-
dangered by hot water or steam during purging. The
purging pipe must match the outlet size of the safety
valve, may have a maximum of 2 bends and a max.
length of 2 m. The pipe must always be kept open and
in sight
• Mount a drain device 3 for the cylinder in the cold water
feed
• Install the warm water pipe 4 and, if necessary, a recir-
culation pipe 5

As the recirculation pipe may cause standby
losses, we recommend its installation only in
case of a wide and branched warm water system.
If a recirculation pipe is necessary, it shall be
equipped with a timer according to the Heating
Appliance Regulations (DVGW worksheet W 551).
