Connecting a n HDMI ® device
The HDMI _ input on your TV receives digital audio and uncompressed
digital video from an HDMI '_ source device.
This input is designed to accept HDCP (High- Bandwidth Digital-Content
Protection) program material in digital form from EIA/CEA-861-D-
compliant[l]
consumer electronic devices (such as a set-top box or DVD
player with HDMI _ output).
The HDMI _ input call accept and display VGA, SVGA, XGA, WXGA,
SXGA, 480i (60Hz), 480p (60Hz), 720p (60Hz), 1080i (60Hz), and 1080p
(24Hz/30Hz/60Hz)
signal formats. For detailed signal specifications, see
"HDMI _ signal formats" on page 177.
The supported Audio formats are Linear PCM, Dolby :_Digital and DTS j_
sampling rate 32/44.1/48 kHz.
NOTE

To connect all HDMI _'device, you wilt need one HDMI _ cable (type A
connector) per HDMI _ device:
ol. For proper operation, it is recommended that you use an HDMI _
cable with the HDMI _'Logo (H_B|).
ol. To display an 1080p/60Hz signal format, you wilt need a High
Speed HDMI _' cable.
o:. HDMI _'cables transfer both video and audio.

To view the HDMI _ device video:
Select HDMI 1, HDMI 2, HDMI 3 or HDMI 4 video input source
on the TV. (Press the INPUT button on the remote control. For more
information, see "Selecting the video input to view" on page 70.
