There are information and warning symbols
on the batteries.
Symbols on the batteries
Use protective goggles.

Store the battery out of
the reach of children.
The battery contains cor-
rosive acid.
Avoid sparks and naked
flames.
Risk of explosion.
Must be taken for recy-
cling.
NOTE
An expended battery must be recycled in
an environmentally safe manner as it con-
tains lead.

10 Maintenance and service

Starter battery - replacement

The starter battery should be replaced by an
authorised workshop.
The starter battery is a traditional 12 V bat-
tery.
Volvo recommends that you allow an author-
ised workshop to replace the batteries - an
authorised Volvo workshop is recommended.
