Common problems

In case your freezer is presenting any operating problems, check the probable
causes in the table below. You can solve common problems easily. If the
operation does not improve, contact the Frigidaire Authorized Service.
Freezer does not run
Not plugged in.
Plug with poor contact.
Power outage.
Fuse blown or circuit breaker tripped.
Defective/improper circuit breaker.
Temperature control in "0".
Freezer runs too much or too long
Room or outside temperature is too
hot.
Freezer has been recently
disconnected for a period of time.
Large amounts of warm or hot food
have been stored recently.
Lid is kept open too long or too
frequently.

Connect the plug to electrical outlet.
Repair the plug.
Wait until the power is back.
Check/reset circuit breaker or
replace fuse with 15-Amp time delay
fuse.
Check electrical installations.
See the temperature control setting
section.
It is normal for the freezer to work
harder under these conditions.
Freezer requires 4 hours to cool down
completely.
Warm food will cause the freezer to
run more until the desired
temperature is reached.
Warm air enters the freezer every
time the lid is opened. Open the lid
less often.
Freezer runs too much or too long
Freezer lid may be slightly open.
Temperature control is set too cold.
Freezer lid seal is dirty, worn, cracked,
or poorly fitted.
Temperature inside the freezer is too cold
Temperature control is set too cold.
Temperature inside the freezer is too warm
Temperature control is set too warm.
Lid is kept open too long or too
frequently.
Freezer lid may be slightly open.
Large amounts of warm or hot food
have been stored recently.
Freezer has recently been

Turn the control to a warmer setting.
Allow several hours for the
temperature to stabilize.
Clean or change the seal. Leaks in
the lid seal will cause freezer to run
longer in order to maintain the
desired temperature
