Do not expose handset to strong water flow (strong enough
to feel pain on skin).
Avoid using handset in bathroom for a prolonged period of time.
Extreme temperature changes can cause condensation. Wait until
handset reaches room temperature before bringing it to a bathroom.
If condensation occurs inside of display, leave handset at
room temperature until condensation disappears.
■ Kitchen
Do not splash handset with or immerse it in any liquids (soap
water, detergent, spice, juice, etc.) other than fresh water or
tap water at room temperature.
Do not splash handset with or immerse it in hot/cold water.
823P is not heat-resistant.
Do not expose handset to strong water flow.
Maintaining Waterproof Performance
Make sure of followings:
Do not open/close External Port Cap or Battery Cover with
gloves on. Small particles may adhere to rubber packing.
Make sure External Port Cap or Battery Cover areas are free of
fine fibers after wiping off liquids.
Do not insert sharp-edged objects into gaps around External
Port Cap or Battery Cover. Doing so may cause leakage. Do not
remove rubber packing.
Do not pick Microphone, Earpiece or Speaker holes with sharp-
edged objects.
Thoroughly wipe off water drops. Water may leak into keypad
or hinge. Shake off any excess water (keeping Battery Cover
closed) and immediately wipe handset with a clean cloth.
In cold climates, water drops turn into frost; this may cause
malfunction.
Do not leave handset wet. Doing so may cause short circuit on
External Port.
Do not leave droplets on Microphone, Earpiece or Speaker.
Doing so may disrupt handset transmission.
Do not wash handset in a washing machine or ultrasound bath.
Handset is not heat resistant. Do not immerse handset in hot
water, use it in a sauna or dry it with hot air using a dryer.
Do not drop handset or subject it to excessive shock. Doing so
may deteriorate waterproof performance.
Handset does not float in water.
Use handset within temperatures of 5 ºC to 35 ºC (limiting to
temporary use in a bathroom within 36 ºC to 40 ºC). Do not use or
store handset in extreme temperatures or areas under direct sunlight.
Handset is not water-pressure resistant. Do not expose handset
to strong water flow or immerse it in water.
Regardless of handset performance, replacing handset parts
every two years is recommended. Replace parts at your
own expense. Contact SoftBank Customer Center, Customer
Assistance ( P.19-34) in your subscription area.
About Waterproof Performance
Waterproof performance of 823P is not guaranteed under all
conditions. Malfunctions due to improper handling caused by
customer are not covered by Warranty.
