CLUTCH
Clutch adjustment may be required if the
1lI0ton.:yde stalls when shifting into gear,
or tends to creep; or if the clutch slips,
causing acceleration to lag behind engine
speed.
Normal clutd lever free play is 5-15mm
(1/4-1/2 in.) at the lever.
I. Loosen the lock nut

and turn the
dutch cable adjuster (3) in or out
(A)
or
(8),
as required to obtain the
specified free play.

2. Tighten the lock nut (2) and check
'ldjustment. Start the engine, pull in
the clutch lever and shift into gear.
M,lke sure that the engine does not
stall, and the motorcycle docs not
creep_
Gradually
rele,lse
the clutch
lever and open the throttle. The motor-
cycle should start smoothly and accele-
rate gr'ldually.
3.
If
proper adjustment can not be obtain-
ed by this method, see your authorized
Honda dealer.
