What to do, if ...

Problem
The device cannot be operated.
General problems with connecting external devices
via an AV input.
No sound via the TV loudspeakers.
All menus appear in the wrong language.
Various characters are displayed incorrectly in
teletext.

Possible cause
Parental lock is activated.
a) The AV standard is set incorrectly
b) The AV signal is set incorrectly
In the Sound menu - other the item "Sound via ..."
is not set to "TV".
Wrong menu language set.
The wrong character set is set in the Teletext
menu.
Help
Deactivate the parental lock: In the TV menu - Settings
- switch off parental lock or enter secret code.
a) Set the standard correctly
b) Set the AV signal correctly
If "Automatic" is set for AV standard or AV signal, this
can lead to faulty detection in the case of non-stand-
ardized signals. Then the standard and the signal must
be set according to the specifi cations in the operating
manual of the external device.
Change setting to "TV".
1. Press the INFO key while no menu is displayed. The
index appears.
2. Select the fi rst entry on the fi rst page (1/2), if it is not
selected automatically.
3. Confi rm with OK.
You are now in the language menu and can select your
language.
Set the correct character set: Teletext menu - Settings -
Character set - Standard or the appropriate character set.
