Problem
Scanner emits short low-short
high- short low-short high beep
sequence while it is being
programmed.
Scanner emits one short high
beep when it is not in use.
Cradle does not work after
following installation
procedures.
Battery does not charge.

Out of ADF parameter
storage space.
Out of Synapse parameter
storage space.
In RS-232 mode, a <BEL>
character is received and
Beep on <BEL> option is
enabled.
Cradle is not receiving
power.
Cable connections are not
secure.
The scanner is not inserted
properly in the cradle.
Cradle is not properly
connected to the host.
Cradle is outside the
charging temperature range.

Possible Solutions
Erase all rules and re-program with shorter rules.
Scan
Set Synapse Defaults
appropriate Synapse Interface Guide, for cables
no longer in use and re-program the scanner for
the current host interface.
Normal when Beep on <BEL> is enabled and the
scanner is in RS-232 mode.
Check system power.
Reinsert cables properly.
Reinsert scanner.
Check that host settings are correct, and connect
the cradle to the appropriate port on the host.
Charge within the recommended temperature of
32° to 104° F (0° to 40° C) nominal, 41° to 95° F
(5° to 35° C) ideal.
