2. Diagnostic information

Start

Use the post symptom table, symptom tables, and service checks in
this chapter to determine the printer failure.

Power-On Self Test (POST) sequence

Press the Power button to turn machine on.
•
The Copy, Scan, and Fax indicator lights turn on.
•
The Charge-Coupled Device (CCD) moves to the right and then
returns.
•
The Fax and Scan indicator lights turn off.
•
The Copy and Auto Answer indicator lights stay on.
•
The paper feed motor runs then stops.
•
The carrier moves and then returns to the maintenance station.
•
The following message is displayed on the LCD.
If your printer completes POST with no errors, go to the
