The refrigerant pipes and the indoor unit contain a nitrogen holding charge which must be removed by evacuation.

See that ball valve on outdoor unit is fully shut (unit is shipped with valve shut). Remove caps from piping and
unit and make flare connection promptly. Repeat for each connection, one at a time.
After all piping connections between indoor and outdoor unit have been completed, vacuum-purge air from
