Scene auto selector
Ry simply framing a picture, the camera automatically selects the optimum scene mode.

The camera automatically selects the optimum flash mode setting for the scene mode it
has selected. Can be changed to
(!)
(off).
Other settings can be selected.
Changed to On when the camera selects Close-up scene mode.

Portrait
Use this mode for taking portraits in which the main subject
stands out clearly.
• If the camera detects a face, it focuses on the face. See "Face
Priority"
(OJ
103) for more information.
• If more than one face is recognized, focus will be on the face
nearest to the camera
• The skin softening feature can make the subject's (up to
three people) skin appear smoother, then record the image
(OJ
48).
• If no faces are recognized, focus will be on the center of the
screen.
• Digital zoom is not available.

.. Landscape
Use this mode for vivid landscapes and cityscapes.
• The camera focuses at infinity. The focus area or focus
indicator

6) always glows green when the shutter-
release button is pressed halfway. Note, however, that
objects in the foreground may not always be in focus.
• AF-assist illuminator

123) does not light.
