1 What's in the Box
XBee Gateway
Required Additional Equipment
A personal computer connected to the internet.
2 Write Down the Serial Number
Write down the serial number located on the back of your XBee Gateway. You will use this serial number later
when adding the device to Device Cloud by Etherios™. The serial number is also known as the Ethernet MAC address.
Some digits of the serial number are the same for all models and are pre-filled below.

Ethernet + Wi-Fi Model

Connect the power supply.

Optional: If using Ethernet network connection in addition to Wi-Fi, connect
one end of the Ethernet cable to your gateway and the other to a live Ethernet jack.

Startup Sequence - After power is applied:
- The Power LED turns solid green.
- The XBee LED turns to blinking green if it has started a ZigBee network.
- The Network LED gradually turns solid green if the XBee Gateway
can connect to Device Cloud.

Ethernet + Cellular Model
a For the GSM model, you will need to install a SIM card. See the
XBee User's Guide topic Configuring for GSM Networks for instructions.

If you will be using Ethernet, connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port
of the XBee Gateway and the other to a live Ethernet jack.

Connect the power supply.

Startup Sequence - After power is applied and the device is configured:
- The Power LED turns solid green.
- The XBee LED turns to blinking green if it has started a ZigBee network.
- The Network LED gradually turns solid green if the XBee Gateway
can connect to Device Cloud.
-The Signal Strength LED turns either yellow or green, depending
on the cellular signal strength.
