MapSource – Mapping Software
After successful installation of the software, you will find "MapSource" on your PC. "MapSource" is an extensive software
tool. The following functions are at your disposal:
• For the viewing and selection of map regions to transfer onto your GARMIN GPS-unit.
• For the administration of waypoints
• For route planning
• For the administration and analysis/charting of tracklogs
• For the searching of elements on your installed maps
In addition, you can save and export personal data (like those mentioned above) with Map Source and apply in external
software. Please consult the separate operational instructions of Map Source if you need help using Map-Source software
or if you wish to learn about the complete use and functional range of this software tool.

Choosing Map samples

• Start the MapSource software
• Select the map product „Topo Oesterreich"
• Click on the map function tool
• Click on the map(s), which you would like to upload to your unit (many map samples can be
simultaneously chosen by pressing and holding the left mouse button then dragging over the desired maps
displayed on the monitor).
• The selected maps will be highlighted in pink - these are the maps that you can transmit to your GPS-unit
• Pay attention to the selected amount (in MB) - this should not exceed the memory of your GARMIN-GPS

The Transfer of Data onto your GPS-unit

If you want to transfer the selected maps to your unit:
1. Connect your GARMIN GPS-Unit with your PC (serial or USB)
2. Click on the tool "SEND TO GPS"
3. Select your GPS-unit
4. Activate "MAPS"
5. Click on "SEND"
The maps will be sent. It may take some time depending on how many maps you have selected.
