Caption Menu Operation

Select a Closed Caption mode.
The caption language options are English, French, and Spanish. Use the
menu to select a language. If the selected language is not available on the
current program, the first available caption language for the program is dis-
played. If a user changes the channel and if the caption language, selected
by user, is not present on the channel, the first available caption language for
the program on the new channel is displayed.

• Digital Closed Captioning (Standard EIA /CEA 708) and Analog Closed
Captioning (Standard EIA/CEA 608) will appear only if provided by the
broadcaster.
• Captions do not display if Timeshift (Pause, Live TV/Playback), record icon
or Progress Bar display appear on the TV screen. Press EXIT to make the
icon or Progress Bar disappear – closed captioning is displayed again.

Press MENU.

The main menu appears.
Use 3 / 4 to select the CAPTION option then press 2 or

(SELECT) to move to the second level.
Use 3 / 4 to select the second menu option.

(SELECT) to move to the third level.

Use 3 / 4 to select a Caption Option menu option.

DTV Caption Option requires an additional step; use 1 / 2 to select
an option.
Press (SELECT) to confirm your selection.

Press MENU to return to the previous menu or press EXIT on the

remote control to return to TV viewing.

You can also turn the closed captioning feature on and off by pressing CC
repeatedly on the remote control.
