Setting the Display Format Output

• Some monitors may not work
with some output resolutions.
• 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i
messages are displayed in the
display window instantly as they
are selected.
• As you operate the menu to first
highlight the desired output res-
olution and press SELECT, the
next menu in series appears
and the onscreen display
changes accordingly.
• Any dynamic display format
changes only work after the on-
screen display disappears.

EZ DVI*
* In EZ DVI mode, the output display format is automatically adapted based on the preferred resolution format of the DVI-HDTV
monitor. The format may be converted from the original broadcast format.
* The EZ DVI mode is only available if a DVI-HDTV compatible monitor is connected to the HD DVR.

The HD DVR supports a variety of display formats. The DISPLAY FORMAT
button on the front panel changes the output connector and resolution. The
output resolution may be different from the original broadcast format.
Display Format Output Setup
Press DISPLAY FORMAT on the front panel once.

The current output connector's indicator flashes in the display window.
Depending on the type of monitor that the HD DVR is connected to,

press DISPLAY FORMAT repeatedly on the front panel to select
desired output connector. (YPbPr, RGB, DVI, or Video). (Skip this
step if you don't want to change output connection.)
Press SELECT on the front panel to confirm your output connector

selection.
The current output connector's indicator flashes in the display window.
Depending on the type of monitor that the HD DVR is connected to,

press DISPLAY FORMAT repeatedly on the front panel to select
desired output resolution. (1080i, 720p, 480p, 480i, native, variable
1, variable 2, or variable 3). (Skip this step if you don't want to
change output resolution.)
1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i indicators are shown in the display window
and disappear after a short while or if another format key is pressed.
Press SELECT on the front panel to confirm your output resolution

selection.
Display Format setup is complete.
