• Most r egistration i ssues a re d ue t o n ot h aving I nternet c onnectivity o r e ntering t he
serial n umber i ncorrectly.

Connection
• Make s ure C amRanger i s f ully p owered o n a nd i nitialized ( it s hould t ake a pproximately
30 s econds). T he p ower l ight a nd W iFi l ight s hould b oth b e o n.
• The p assword t o c onnect t o t he C amRanger W iFi i s t he C amRanger s erial n umber i n a ll
CAPS. I f t here a re s till i ssues c onnecting, t urning t he M ac's W iFi o ff a nd t hen b ack o n

• If t he C amRanger a pplication i s c onnected t o t he C amRanger d evice, b ut n o c amera i s
connected, i t w ill a ttempt t o c onnect t o a c amera a pproximately e very 5 s econds.
• If t he M ac i s o utside o f o r n ear t he e dge o f t he r ange o f t he C amRanger u nit t here w ill
be c onnection p roblems.
• Disconnect a nd r econnect t he C amRanger b y s electing " Connection" t hen C onnect o n
the M enu B ar t o f orce a n ew s ession/connection.
• Power c ycling t he c amera a nd C amRanger a s w ell a s r estarting t he a pplication w ill
completely r efresh t he c onnection.
• When t he c amera b attery b egins t o g et l ow, c ertain c ommands m ay s tart t o f ail o r a
connection m ay b e r efused.
• The C amRanger h ardware c an o nly b e c onnected t o a s ingle M ac a t a t ime.
• A s econd n etwork c onnection, s uch a s w ith a n E thernet c able, w ill l ikely c ause
connection f ailures.
• If t here i s a n i nconsistent o r i ntermittent c onnection, t he i ssue i s l ikely r elated t o t he
USB c onnection a nd d ifferent U SB c able w ill o ften f ix t he p roblem.
Speed
• The C amRanger h as a ll t he s ame d istance a nd i nterference l imitations a s n ormal W iFi.
Long d istances a nd s olid o bjects w ill s low t he c onnection s peed.
• The C amRanger a pplication c an h andle v ery l arge i mage f iles. H owever, w aiting f or
those f iles t o t ransfer f rom t he c amera a nd t hen o ver W iFi c an b e t ime c onsuming. A
common o perating m ode i s t o s hoot R AW a long w ith a s mall o r m edium s ized J PG.
• Newer a nd f aster M ac c omputers d o p erform b etter o verall, p articularly f or i ntensive
tasks s uch a s s howing t he 1 00% r esolution i mages.
