POSSIBLE CAUSE
Air filter restricted
Bad fuel; generator stored
without treating or draining
petrol, or refueled with bad
petrol
Mechanical failure
Engine Backfires
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Weak spark from spark plug Inspect, clean, and / or replace spark plug
Incorrect spark plug gap or
heat range
Old or non-recommended
fuel
Incorrectly installed spark
plug wires
Incorrect ignition timing
Mechanical failure
Loose ignition connections
Water present in fuel
TROUBLESHOOTING
Clean or replace air filter(s)
Drain the fuel system and refuel
Take the generator to an authorized POLARIS servicing
supplier or refer to the service manual
Set gap to specification or replace plug
Drain the fuel system and refuel
