    Introduction Keep an eye on your little one with the DCS-850L Wi-Fi Baby Camera. This portable camera transforms your mobile device into a versatile, yet easy-to-use baby monitor. The pan/tilt feature lets you move the camera remotely, so you can monitor the entire playroom from your mobile device.

    Wireless Installation Considerations This D-Link camera can connect to your wireless network from anywhere within the operating range of your wireless network. However, the number, thickness, and location of walls, ceilings, or other objects that the wireless signals must pass through may limit the range. Typical ranges vary depending on the types of materials and background RF (radio frequency) noise in your home or business.

    Enabling Direct Connect During the initial steps with the Setup Wizard, you configured the camera to connect to your home Wi-Fi network. The DCS-850L can also be used as a portable camera that you can take with you. Direct Connect mode lets you wirelessly connect your mobile device directly to your camera, which means there is no need for an Internet connection or a router.
  • Page 31 Note: Don't forget to turn off Direct Connect mode when you are finished using your DCS-850L as a portable camera. Press and hold the Direct Connect button for at least five seconds to turn off Direct Connect mode. This will ensure that your mobile device will return to normal operation with Internet access, and you can easily connect your camera to your Wi-Fi network when you return home.
