  • Page 3 Cleaning your SmartGuard Clean SmartGuard daily by simply wiping with a soft cloth or tissue. Do not apply excessive pressure to the tip of the hearing instrument. Use a gentle back and forth wiping motion. Never wipe with a rotating motion as this might damage the SmartGuard.
  • Page 4 Changing your SmartGuard • For best results change your SmartGuard every two months or as recommended by your hearing care professional. • Use only the supplied handling tool when changing the SmartGuard. • SmartGuards and handling tools are designed for single use only.
  • Page 5 Removal of the used SmartGuard Gently press the removal side of the tool into the SmartGuard ring until you feel the tool snap in. The SmartGuard ring will be attached to the tool as you gently pull the tool back.
  • Page 6 Insertion of a new SmartGuard A new SmartGuard ring is already attached to the replacement side of the handling tool. Place the replacement side against the sound outlet of the hearing instrument and press gently until you feel the SmartGuard snap into place.
