  • Page 17 Direct-to-Disc (DLA) This software enables you to write directly to CD-RW, CD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, and DVD-R media using the drive letter like you would if you were writing to a diskette. All disc format types can be formatted by DLA. With DLA, you can drag-and-drop files, create new directories, or save files from any application directly to your Super Multi-burner.

    Loading a disc 1. Press the Eject button. The tray slides out of the drive. 2. Place a disc in the tray with the label facing up. 3. Close the tray by gently pushing the tray in until it latches. Attention: Do not use force or insert foreign objects to open the tray.

    v Always store discs away from direct heat sources. v Remove discs from the computer when not in use. v Check discs for cracks BEFORE each use. IMPORTANT: Do not use discs that are cracked. v Do not force discs into the computer or packaging. v Do not bend or flex discs.

    Using the tip of a ball point pen, push and break the lock pin tab 1 . To remove the disc, use a ball point pen to push down on the cartridge lid lock 2 and pull the cartridge lid out 3 . When the cartridge lid is open, the disc can be removed. Note: The cartridge lid lock and the cartridge lid tab are located on the side of some cartridges, as shown in 2a and 3a above.

    Using CD-Rs and CD-RWs The Super Multi-burner drive can write to both CD-R and CD-RW discs. CD-R discs cannot be erased, but can be used with standard CD-ROM drives and CD players. You can use CD-R discs to record audio tracks, store data, archive files, and copy files from another CD.

    8. Click Go. The software you selected will install silently. 9. Reboot after the completion message. Note: if the software fails to install silently, you can select interactive installs of individual packages from the bottom line of the installer page.
