Installing your
Whirlpool Refrigerator

Getting Started

• Unpack your refrigerator* and select a well-ventilated spot close to
an electrical point. Allow sufficient clearance for dispersion of heat,
preferably 100 mm at the back and 300 mm on the sides and top.
• Keep the refrigerator away from direct sunlight and other high
temperature sources like oven and cooking range. Avoid damp,
exposed locations.
• Ensure that the electrical point is properly earthed. Do not use
extension cords.
• Avoid carpeted areas. A stable installation minimizes noise and
prevents tilting.
Explosion Hazard
Keep flammable materials and
vapors, such as gasoline, away
from refrigerators.
Failure to do so can result in
explosion or fire.
"IMPORTANT"
* Check for transit damage to your refrigerator and if any, report to
your dealer within 24 hours of delivery.
Electrical Shock Hazard
Plug into a 3 prong grounded outlet.
Do not remove ground prong.
Do not use an adapter.
Do not use an extension cord.
Failure to follow these instructions can result in fire,
or electrical shock.
• Shift the refrigerator into place by raising the front slightly and
sliding it on the rear castors.
• Rotate the two glider screws, provided below your refrigerator,
clockwise/anticlockwise to raise/lower the front. The front should be
slightly above the rear - so that the door shuts gently when left open.
Getting Connected
• Set temperature controls in the refrigerator and freezer sections.
• Run refrigerator for 5-6 hours so that it is cooled sufficiently before
loading food inside.
Caution
• To avoid the risk of children getting trapped and therefore
suffocating, do not allow them to play or hide inside the refrigerator.
