8. OPERATION

1
Prior to switching on, turn down the master control for the overall level to the left stop position to avoid a
possible switching-on noise.
2
First switch on the connected audio sources, then the PAM-70 PA system. The [POWER] indicator
lights green. If an additional amplifier system has been connected, switch on the PAM-70 PA system
last.
3
After operation switch off the units in reverse order: additional PA system
sources.
4
If the red indicator [LOW] lights during battery operation, the battery must be charged. If the device
remains in operation, an emergency switch-off deactivates the device to protect it from total discharge.
The operating time with a fully charged rechargeable battery is, at full volume, between 7 and 8 hours.
The time of operation that can be reached depends on volume, the age of the rechargeable battery and
the ambience temperature.
Prior to operating the PA system off mains for the first time, the rechargeable battery must be fully
charged ( 6.2).
5
First set all level controls back to the left stop position.
6
Adjust the master control for the overall volume to a level that the subsequent adjustments can be
heard well via the speaker system.
7
Switch on the audio player ( 8.1) as well as the other external signal sources, speak into your
microphone or play your instrument and set the input sensitivity with the corresponding volume controls
so that the sound is not distorted but as loud as possible. Turn back the controls of the signal sources
not used.
Do not direct any microphones to the integrated speaker. This can result in dangerous and unpleasant
acoustic feedback which will generate a loud whistling sound.
8
Determine the definite level for the master volume of the PA system with the master control.
