How to Perform a
Blood Glucose Test
Here are the steps on how to perform a blood glucose
test with your AlphaTRAK 2 Meter and Test Strips.

detailed information on capillary sampling and accuracy data.

Gather all supplies needed
to perform the test.

Choose a Capillary Sampling site.
Marginal ear vein
Elbow callus (dog only)
Paw pad
Inner lip (dog only)

Check test strip
expiration date on
the vial.

Adjust depth by rotating
the wheel: 1 is shallowest
and 4 is deepest.

Insert a new lancet
into lancing device,
push till it comes
to a complete
stop, and replace
clear cover.

Turn meter on by
inserting the test
strip with butterfly
facing up and flying
into the meter.
Make sure the dog or cat
code on the meter match the
code on the test strip vial. If
necessary, change the code
on the meter by pressing
m
or
c
.
Obtain a small blood
drop from the animal.
Touch only one side of the
test strip sample area to
the blood drop and wait for
the beep (if sound is on).
Results
appear in
seconds.
