continued
Possible Cause
You are using ACU to expand
capacity.
Interconnect link (ICL) has failed.
Mismatched firmware on the
array controllers exist.
Failover may have occurred.
Cache modules on the array
controllers do not match.
GBIC-SW laser has malfunctioned.
Action
The firmware will automatically
put the RA4000/4100 in
nonredundant mode during
capacity expansion. This is normal
behavior.
Check the Windows NTS/E or
Windows 2000 Advanced Server
Event Log to determine if the ICL
to has failed.
1.
Check to make sure the
firmware version levels
match.
2.
If they do not match, use
Options ROMPaq to update
the firmware.
Check to see if a failover has
occurred. It is normal behavior for
a drive rebuild to restart if a
failover has occurred.
Obtain and replace the cache
module so that cache levels
match on both array controllers.
1.
Refer to the documentation
that came with your storage
system for instructions on
replacing a GBIC-SW.
2.
Manually fail back
resources.
