Appendix: Menu Options Lists
• When the shooting mode is set to N or 9, [Zoom Type] will auto-
matically be set to [
[È Powered IS]: With Powered IS you can make the image stabiliza-
tion even more powerful. Powered IS is most effective for shooting far-
away non-moving subjects from a stationary position.
• This function is available only when the shooting mode is set to †,
ƒ or '.
• Turning off the camcorder will deactivate the Powered IS function.
[z Pre REC]: When this function is activated, the camcorder automat-
ically starts recording 3 seconds before you press Y so you
do not miss important shooting opportunities.
• When the shooting mode is set to 9, [z Pre REC] will automatically
be set to [ON] and pre-recording cannot be deactivated.
• The camcorder will not record the full 3 seconds prior to pressing
Y if the button was pressed within 3 seconds of having
turned on pre-recording or having finished the previous recording.
• Any of the following actions will deactivate the pre-recording function.
- Leaving the camcorder without any operation for 5 minutes.
- Turning off the camcorder, pressing ], changing the shooting
mode, etc.
- Activating video snapshot or the slow & fast recording mode.
- Opening the 0
[Video Quality] or [Recording Media] screen.
- Opening the 2 (or 0
Scene], [R Faders] or [Ä White Balance] screen.
- When the camcorder cannot keep recording, for example when the
memory is full or the memory card slot cover was open.
