Deleting the Unnecessary ScanGear (Scanner Driver)

You can delete the ScanGear (scanner driver) you no longer use.
When deleting ScanGear, close all running applications and remove the USB cable connecting the machine
and computer.
Windows 8.1 / Windows 8:
1. From the Settings charm, select Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
2. Double-click CanoScan XXX Scanner Driver (where "XXX" is the model name).
3. When the Scanner Driver Uninstall dialog box appears, click Execute.
4. When a confirmation appears, click Yes.
5. When uninstallation is complete, click Complete.
ScanGear is deleted.
Windows 7 / Windows Vista:
1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program.
2. Double-click CanoScan XXX Scanner Driver (where "XXX" is the model name).
3. When the Scanner Driver Uninstall dialog box appears, click Execute.
4. When a confirmation appears, click Yes.
5. When uninstallation is complete, click Complete.
ScanGear is deleted.
Note
• In Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista a confirmation/warning dialog box may
appear when installing, uninstalling, or starting up software. This dialog box appears when
administrative rights are required to perform a task. If you are logged on to an administrator account,
click Yes (or Continue, Allow) to continue.
Windows XP:
1. From the Start menu, select Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs.
2. Select CanoScan XXX Scanner Driver (where "XXX" is the model name), then click
Remove.
3. When the Scanner Driver Uninstall dialog box appears, click Execute.
