    Structural & mounting components should be kept dry, clean, lubricated (only if recommended), coated properly, and otherwise maintained in a manner consistent with part design. Barco products must be used in a manner consistent with their design and inspected on a routine basis for security, wear, deformation, corrosion and any other circumstances that may affect the load handling capability of the part.

    6 should be protected by a circuit breaker or fuses rated 16 A / 250 VAC (15 A / 250 VAC in the USA and Canada). Note that one TF-10 tile requires 200-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, 1.98 amps at 230 VAC.

    • TF-10 tiles are not to be exposed to any element or situation that will cause any part of the display to heat beyond what occurs during normal operation. Such situations include but are not limited to lasers, ultrasonic vibration, or any type of substance that prevents proper ventilation and heat radiation of the TF-10 tiles.

    One TF-10 tile requires 200-240 VAC, 50-60 Hz, 1.98 amps at 230 VAC. Each TF-10 tile has a power loop through connector. However, MAXIMUM 6 TF-10 tiles may be connected in parallel. So, one power source cable has to be provided per 6 tiles. Every power source cable should be protected by a circuit breaker or fuses rated 16 A / 250 VAC (15 A / 250 VAC in the USA and Canada).

    About this chapter This chapter describes the typical components and accessories, used in a fixed TF-10 LED-wall, more in detail. For other, common used components in Barco LED displays like power boxes, digitizer, fiberlink, compact link and control software, we refer to the manual of these components for more information about use and installation.

    A unique video processing feature enables the creation of a visual resolution quasi double the physical resolution defined by the cluster of LED’s spread on the surface of the display. The TF-10 tile front is an IP65 rating rugged module and the back is an IP54 rating ruggedness.

  • Page 20 Power cables used between TF-10 tiles To meet the demands of each TF-10 application Barco offers several lengths of power cables to link power from tile to tile. Note that the power output port of the last tile in the power chain has to be sealed with a dummy power plug.

    3. Components of a fixed TF-10 display Video Processor General The Video processor (image processing, conversion and conditioning) all source signals for digital distribution to every tile. The video process can be accessed directly or via the control software (e.g. Director toolset, RMS). This software is designed as a user interface to be used in conjunction with the Video processes and display.
  • Page 23 D320L/Lite The D320L/Lite is a video processing device, designed to drive as well Barco LED walls as large screen projectors, monitors, plasma screens, ... etc. The D320L/Lite is capable of handling all standard output formats like SVGA, XGA, SXGA and UXGA on an analog RGBHV and digital DVI output as well as SDI and HD-SDI sources.
  • Page 24 The DMP-100 is a video processing device, designed to drive exclusively Barco LED walls for digital signage implication. The DMP-100 is a powerful DVI signal processor that accepts a wide range of DVI input modes and processes them to drive Barco LED walls.

    If the distance between the digitizer and the LED-wall exceeds 5 meters, a fiber optic connection must be used to ensure signal integrity and system reliability. Barco offers two complete system solutions including transmitter, fiber and receiver. The choice of system depends on the length of cable required.

    If the distance between the digitizer and the LED-wall or between two LED-wall exceeds 5 meters but not exceeds 50 meters, a fiber optic connection must be used to ensure signal integrity and system reliability. Barco offers complete system solutions including transmitter, fiber and receiver.

    If the distance between the digitizer and the LED-wall or between two LED-wall exceeds 5 meters but not exceeds 50 meters, we can choose the CAT-Link, The CAT-Link is exclusively designed for Barco Digitizers and LEDwalls and can thus not be used on any other equipment.

    Remote management software (RMS) The RMS-1 software is designed to configure, manage, and monitor Barco digital signage LED display systems. It supports D320L/Lite, DMP-100 and DX-700 video processors as well as TF-10 LED tiles. The RMS software also has a dedicated user interface which can be installed on any windows based PC for remote accessing the LED display system.

    Calibration tools for the TF-10 mounting plates. Barco provides mounting plates for the TF-10 tiles which has to be attached to the support structure. To align the mounting plates correctly, the use of calibration tools is recommended. Barco provides this calibration tool to align the mounting plates in a vertical direction and horizontal direction.

    Four M10 nuts per tile for fixation (DIN6926 prevailing torque type hexagon flange nut - steel zinc plated : B363915). How to mount a TF-10 tile ? 1. Bring the TF-10 tile in front of its final position in the LED-wall. Ensure the tile is in the right position, so with the lifting hooks on top.
  • Page 36 Power connections 2. Check if each stud rod of the TF-10 tile contains a hexagon nut (M10) fully turned on the stud rod. If not, provide one. 3. Guide the stud rods of the TF-10 tile through the corresponding holes of the mounting plates attached to the support structure.

    Outdoor plugs and sockets for TF-10 tiles Barco uses special designed outdoor sockets for power and data connections from tile to tile and to other peripherals. These rugged sockets are watertight (IP65) when used with the appropriate plugs and sealing rings. Each socket is equipped with a plug holder clamp which, when locked, ensures the plug is completely pressed into the socket.

    Barco provides several types of power boxes. Depending on the size of the TF-10 display you can choose to use the mono phase power box or the custom made power box. The type of power box does not influence the power cabling of the TF-10 display. See installation manual of the concerned power box for installation instructions.

  • Page 48: Cleaning Tf-10 Tiles

    Why clean TF-10 tiles ? Due to outdoor use the TF-10 tiles are exposed to all kinds of weather conditions. Sand, dust, smog and other dirt adhere on the TF-10 tiles and because of that the performance of the TF-10 tiles is reduced. That’s why cleaning the TF-10 tiles is recommended at regular intervals.
