4.5 MCS Main Directory Window

The Maintenance Console Software's main directory window provides access to the various
MCS menus for defining and displaying network Groups and Gateways (units).
Title Bar
Groups Window Pane
The function and appearance of the MCS main directory window resembles that of the
Windows Explorer program interface.
Title, Menu, and Tool Bars
The top line Title bar contains the programs name.
The Menu bar is located immediately beneath the Title bar and contains the program menus;
Unit, Edit, Tools, View, and Help.
To view the contents of a menu, place the mouse cursor over the menu item and click the left
mouse button, then select the desired item from the menu.
Repeat this procedure for menu items containing submenus.
Below the Menu bar is the Toolbar. This bar contains shortcut buttons to many of the frequently
used menu items. When the mouse cursor is placed over a Toolbar button, a definition for the
button appears on the left side of the Status bar.
The Toolbar bar can be removed and restored to the display by selecting Tool Bar from the
View menu.
Directory Window
The directory window itself contains two window panes; the Groups pane and the Units pane.
To adjust the relative width of the panes, left mouse-click and hold on the pane divider bar and
drag the divider bar to the left or right of the screen.
