Call Signalling Channel
H.323 reliable channel used to convey call setup messages following the Q.931 protocol.
Communication service
One category of service functions supported by the KX-TDA0480. The telephony
communication, including fax communication, supported by the KX-TDA0480 can be
generalised, from the connection configuration point of view, in inter-extension
communication, through IP network and communication via PBX. This category of service
functions includes functions corresponding to each type of communication.
Communication through IP network
One of the service functions supported by the KX-TDA0480. It provides a mutual
communication, through the IP network, among the terminals (ordinary analogue telephone
set, G3 fax machine) connected directly to another KX-TDA0480.
Direct Call
Gives capability of Gatekeeper priority. Connection procedure dependent of Gatekeeper
only during address conversion. Although there is little Gatekeeper load, the
communication status of the Gatekeeper cannot be managed completely.
DNS function
A number dialled by a telephone set is converted into an IP address. The IP address is the
number used to actually set up a call over an IP network.
DNS information
This information is used to convert the telephone number into an IP address, so that the call
can go out over the IP network.
Dynamic address conversion
Address conversion method that assigns a variable global address each time a device within
the space of a private address is connected to the Internet.
Endpoint
A Terminal Gateway or MCU in an H.323 network.
Equipment data
One category of the office data used in the KX-TDA0480 configuration.
Equipment data include information about the unit and the unit password.
FC
Quick connection procedure according to Recommendation H.245 that simplifies the
logical channel establishment procedure.
