Test Functions

The VAR8 units can initiate a number of unit system tests, including:
•
Sounder and lamp test:
The unit features the LAMP TEST key. Pressing this key will cause all indicators on the VAR8 to
operate, and the fault and health indicators on all mainframes and amplifiers to also illuminate. The built-
in sounder is also tested.
•
Audio monitoring:
Any Router audio input or DVA message, or any amplifier output can be audibly monitored via the front
panel loudspeaker, with its audio level being simultaneously displayed on the LCD screen.
Audio Input:
•
Contact and Routing monitoring.
•
Changeover/changeback to standby amplifiers can be forced.
•
The detailed configuration and operational status of each mainframe and amplifier module can be
interrogated.
