5.1 multi-channel recording

Digital 5.1 multi-channel recording lets
you capture the original sound from
digital multi-channel sources such as the
Cable Box/Satellite Receiver, when you
record a video that produces the full
cinema sound experience (Dolby Digital,
DTS surround or DTS ES, Dolby Digital
EX).
Notes:
– 5.1 multi-channel recording is only
possible in HQ and SP recording mode.
– 5.1 multi-channel recording is only
possible through DTT broadcast or audio
signal received from Digital/Optical input
socket or EXT-2-TO VCR/SAT socket
on this recorder.
– 5.1 multi-channel recordings cannot be
played back on other players.
Preparation for 5.1 multi-channel
recording
A
Connect your Cable Box/ Satellite
Receiver to this recorder's EXT2-TO
VCR/SAT socket and COAXIAL
DIGITAL IN socket.

Turn on the TV to the correct viewing
channel for the recorder.
C
Press OPTIONS, then move to
{ Settings } and press OK.
D
Move to { Audio } in the menu and press
OK.

Move to { Digital input } > { On } in
the menu and press OK to confi rm.

Press OK to confi rm and followed by
OPTIONS to exit the menu.
Start recording

Press LIVE TV on the remote control.

To record from the cable box/satellite
receiver, press LIVE TV repeatedly to
switch to analogue tuner mode followed
by P +/- repeatedly to select
{ EXT 2 }.
To record from the digital terrestrial
tuner, press LIVE TV repeatedly to
switch to digital tuner mode.
'D' with the channel number appears
on the top left corner on the TV.

Press REC to start recording.
