Making a phone call or faxing with the Gigaset SX682 WiMAX

Making calls via VoIP

Make telephone calls in the same way as on a conventional phone: dial as usual or use
the directory to dial. The Phone LED flashes green.

Receiving VoIP phone calls

Your PC does not need to be switched on for you to receive calls. You only need the
Gigaset SX682 WiMAX to be ready for operation (Phone LED lights up green).
For you to receive calls via VoIP, let potential callers know your VoIP phone number. You
will find your VoIP phone number in the documentation supplied by your provider.
As soon as a call comes in on your VoIP phone, the Phone LED starts to flash green and
the phone rings. When you lift the receiver or press the connect button, your Gigaset
SX682 WiMAX will provide the appropriate bandwidth for voice transmission. If you are
surfing the Internet at the same time, the data might be transmitted slightly more
slowly, similar to when downloading several large data packets. The call is made in the
same way as via a conventional phone line. When you have ended the call, the Phone
LED glows green again and your Gigaset SX682 WiMAX makes the entire bandwidth
available for data transfer.
