    Advanced Settings Configuring Internet access If you have configured the Gigaset SE680 WiMAX using the Basic Setup Wizard, you have also configured your Internet access. You can check or change these settings in the Internet menu. This menu also offers you a wide range of possibilities for setting up security settings and limiting access to the Internet as well as for providing your own services on the Internet.

Enabling or disabling the firewall Your Gigaset SE680 WiMAX comes with an integrated firewall, which protects your device and network against unauthorised access from the Internet. If the firewall is ena- bled, your device can identify certain events, e.g. suspicious incoming data packets from the Internet, as attacks and avert them (hacker defence).

    This address block is 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.255.254. Configuring the DHCP server The Gigaset SE680 WiMAX has a DHCP server for which the factory setting is active. Con- sequently, the IP addresses of the PCs are automatically assigned by the Gigaset SE680 WiMAX.

    IP address you wish to assign to the PC. Ageing time for MAC table When a PC in the network is accessed, your Gigaset SE680 WiMAX writes the MAC address and port number in a MAC table to speed up further accesses. The entry in the MAC table is deleted after a fixed time.

If the device came from your provider with a preset system password, you can change this password here.

You should do this before making the device available to others or exchanging it through the dealer. Oth- erwise unauthorised users may use the Internet access data at your expense.
