Preparation
÷ Close the disc door.

TRACK mode.

Searching a disc by the disc title

By inputting the initial letter of the desired disc title, discs which have the disc titles beginning with that character can be
searched in sequence.

Activate the character search mode.

Although all operations can be controlled from both the 10-

change the remote control unit in the middle of operation

(CHARAC. SEARCH mode)

÷ When the MODE button is pressed during CHARAC. SEARCH mode,
the CHARAC. SEARCH mode is cancelled.
Each press switches the modes as follows:
1 MUSIC TYPE
2 DISC SEARCH
3 TITLE INPUT
4 ALL DATA READ
5 ALL INFORMATION
6 DTS DISC SKIP

÷ The initial letters of disc titles are searched insensitively to the upper-
case and lowercase.
÷ Lowercase characters cannot be input in the CHARAC. SEARCH mode.

÷ If a desired character is not provided on the remote control buttons,

input the character as follows. Press the CHARACTER (DOWN/UP)

buttons or rotating the DISC SKIP knob on the main unit (provided that
the OPERATION-A indicator is lit) until the desired character is dis-
played in the flashing cursor position. Then, press the SET button.
÷ The type of characters (capital letters or numbers/symbols) is switched
each time the CHARAC. button is pressed.
÷ The disc titles beginning the specified character will be scrolled in the
display.
÷ If there is no disc title beginning with the specified character, "NO
ENTRY" will be displayed.
To quit CHARAC. SEARCH mode
Press the MODE button.
To play the searched disc
