. AUXILIARY STARTING
On page 9. reference IS made to the "AuxJilary Start System."
This system utilizes the auxiliary battery to aid ,n starting the
engine In case the engine. or chassIs battery is dlschargea.
Dleset-eqUipped motor homes have three battenes as standard
equipment. When starting the diesel engine, power is drawn from
all three battenes. After the vehicle IS started. chassis electrical
needs are supplied by two ballenes and the rest of the motor
home electrical needs are supptied

ENGINE OIL AND FILTER RECOMMENDATIONS
These tOP'CS are covered in detail in t"e Owner's and Driver's
Manual. Ptease refer to this manual for this information.
AUXILIARY GENERATOR POWER PLANT
The auxililary generator in standard motor home models is
gasoline-powered. LP gas IS used to power the generator in
diesel motor homes. A larger LP gas tank is located in the same
place as the standard motor home tank (see the exterior
illustrations). Whe" filling"or servicing the LP gas tank, please
follow the same precautions and procedures found in the LP Gas
System section.
GENERATOR POWER PLANT
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Read and understand the generator operating, maintenance
and safety instructions furnished in your owner's kit.
• Dc not smoke or use cpen flame near the generator unit
or fuel tank.
Do not block generator venlllating air inlets or outlets. The
air-cooled generator requires a constant supply of cooling
air. Restricted ventilating air inlets or outiets can cause
generator failure or fire from generator overheating.
• Do not use generator ventilating air for heating any interior
living space. Ventilating air can contain high concentrations
of lethal gases.
• Do not place flammable material or store any other materials
in the generator compartment.
• Check generator fuel lines often. Fuel leakage in or around
the compartment IS an extreme fire hazard. Do not use the
generator until the fuel leaks are repaired.
Exhaust gases are deadly. Do nOI block the tall pipe or
