Troubleshooting

If you experience problems with activation,
here are some things to try:
1. Make sure your firewall is connected to a
computer and the ISP modem correctly.
2. Verify the computer is set to obtain an IP
address automatically.
3. Go to
http://firewall.lds.org
connected to the firewall.
4. Check that you have Internet access at the
ISP modem. If not, you will need to contact
the ISP support to figure out why. Power
cycle your ISP modem.
5. Power cycle your meetinghouse firewall.
If for some reason you have to restart
activation, go to
http://firewall.lds.org
computer connected to the firewall.
If activation was successful, but the filtering
does not work immediately, close all browser
windows and then check again. Use
http://filteraudit.cjclds.net
Test your connection through the firewall and
directly to the ISP using an online test such
as http://speedtest.lds.org. This will help you get
a feel for your connection and ensure the
firewall is functioning correctly.

Connect Computers and Access Points
Once the firewall is set up properly, connect
computers and access points through any of the
available LAN ports. Use a network switch if you
need more ports.
Wired Connections
Wired connections should be installed,
organized, and labeled in accordance with
standards posted at
http://lds.org/aec
http://mhtech.lds.org.
Wireless Connections
The 881W includes integrated wireless 802.11
(Wi-Fi). Screw in the three antennas to the back
of the unit and place them in an upright position.
Upon successful activation, the wireless should
configure itself automatically. It may take up to
two hours for it to begin working properly.
Information on how to connect to the integrated
wireless or how to procure and set-up additional
wireless access points can be found at
http://mhtech.lds.org.
Protect Church-managed Computers
Church-managed computers must be set up and
kept up-to-date with the latest security patches
and software necessary for secure Internet use.

activating the meetinghouse firewall or to learn
more about other meetinghouse technologies,
