(6) Observation
The microscope permits observation with
u n i f o r m l y b r i g h t i l l u m i n a t i o n r a n g i n g
from the 4X objective up to the oil-
immersion 100X objective, with no need
o f c h a n g i n g t h e i l l u m i n a t i o n s y s t e m . F o r
interference or phase-contrast observa-
t i o n , t u r n t h e b r i g h t n e s s a d j d s t i n g d i a l

Note that this microscope cannot be used
for interference phase-contrast observa-
t i o n w i t h t h e 1 0 0 X o i l - i m m e r s i o n , b e -
cause of insufficient brightness.
It can be used with the 40X objective for
up to a total magn if ication of 400X,
w h e n t h e i l l u m i n a t i o n l s a d i u s t e d f o r
m a x i m u m b r i g h t n e s s .
(7) Photomicrography
C o m p a r e d w i t h t h e N i k o n S - K e M i c r o -
scope, the Model S-Kt will provide photo-
graphs of somewhat lower contrast.
In monochromatic photography, good
contrast can be obtained by the use of a
green (monochrombtic) f i lter.

(8) Filters
F i l t e r s 3 3 m m i n d i a m e t e r a r e u s e d i n t h e
filter holder beneath the condenser lens,
and 45mm diameter f ilters above the
