Resizing Objects

Use any of the following methods to resize objects. Each method is described in detail in this
section.
Using the mouse.
Using the Increase Size or Decrease Size features (from the Object menu or from the
toolbar).
Using the Scale key
Using the Object Properties tool.

Using the Mouse to Resize Objects

Note: Using the mouse to resize is quick and easy but, it is not as precise as some other
methods.
1. Click on an object to select it. You'll see the selection markers around the object.
2. Place the cursor over a selection marker. The cursor changes to an arrow cursor,
indicating the direction in which you can move the cursor.
3. Drag the arrow cursor to the desired size.
Note: The side markers resize in only one direction, horizontally or vertically. The corner
markers resize the object both horizontally and vertically at the same time, making it
possible to retain the original proportions of the object.

Using Increase Size and Decrease Size

Use the Increase/Decrease Size features (from the Object menu or toolbar) to increase or
decrease the size of the selected object proportionally by 10% of its original size. This is
useful for making small changes to your object.
Note: Using Increase/Decrease Size on text objects is not recommended, as it may result in
the text wrapping to more or fewer lines on the item. See Scaling text objects on page 6-28
for more information.

1. Select the object.
2. Select Increase Size or Decrease Size from the Object menu or toolbar.
When you select Increase Size, the selected object becomes 10% larger than its
original size. Repeat to increase the object size incrementally by 10%.
When you select Decrease Size, the selected object becomes 10% smaller than its
original size. Repeat to increase the object size incrementally by 10%.
