Low oil level
Transmission overfi lled causing
oil aeration
Transmission shift lever not fully
engaged
Contaminated fl uid
Ignition system malfunction
Plugged fuel fi lters
Faulty fuel pump.
Plugged or kinked fuel lines or
fuel tank vent
Anti-siphon valve faulty
Flame arrestor dirty
Ignition malfunction
Throttle not fully open
Damaged or improper propeller
Excessive water in the bilge
Excessive growth on the boat
bottom
Boat overloaded
Dirty fl ame arrestor
Engine overheating

Corrective Action
Add specifi ed oil. Check the
transmission for leaks.
Drain required amount of oil.
Adjust the shift linkage and remote
control. Check the shift cables for
freedom of movement and
binding.
Determine and correct the
contamination source and change
the fl uid.
Contact PCM Engines Dealer.
Replace the fuel fi lters.
Have fuel pump replaced by a
PCM Engines Dealer/
Repair or replace the fuel lines.
Remove obstruction.
Clean or replace as necessary.
Clean the fl ame arrestor.
Contact PCM Engines Dealer.
Check the remote control and
throttle body linkage for freedom
of movement and proper adjustment.
Repair or replace as necessary.
Pump the water out and investigate
source of entry.
Clean the bottom and paint with an
anti-fouling paint.
Reduce and/or redistribute the load.
Clean the fl ame arrestor.
Repair the cooling system (See
"Engine Overheats").
