    A blank black or blue screen appears. The picture is fuzzy. (VHS playback) Use a cleaning tape designed specifically for D-VHS video heads (JVC D-VHS video head cleaner DFC-2) to clean the video heads.     If you engage the Auto Recording standby mode while the NTSC device is turned on, the VCR will not start Auto Recording, and [L-1] and [ ‰ ] blink on the front display panel. When you turn off the NTSC device, [L-1] and [ ‰ ] light up and the VCR enters the Auto Recording standby mode.

    Tape program information is stored in this VCR’s memory. If this VCR’s memory is damaged and the program information is lost, it is impossible to restore that information. After recording a tape on this VCR, write the tape number on a label and affix the label to the tape in order to allow you to find the tape by its number.

  • Page 37 Up to four audio signal channels can be input from a DV camcorder through the DV “AUDIO1” IN connector (i.LINK). This VCR allows you to select and record two of these channels. “AUDIO2” This setting is used to specify which two channels to record.

    TROUBLESHOOTING Troubleshooting Before requesting service, use this chart and see if you can repair the trouble yourself. Small problems are often easily corrected, and this can save you the trouble of sending your VCR off for repair. POWER SYMPTOM 1. The power will not come on.

    MOISTURE CONDENSATION Moisture in the air will condense on the VCR when you move it from a cold place to a warm place, or under extremely humid conditions—just as water droplets form on the surface of a glass filled with cold liquid. Moisture condensation on the head drum will cause damage to the tape.
