Brewing Coffee or Tea

use the following procedure to brew coffee or tea.
1. Rotate the cover locks to the unlocked position and remove
the top cover.
2. Remove the coffee/tea basket, spreader cover, and
pumping tube assembly from the tank.
Make sure a minimum of 2 liters (0.5 gallons) of water is in
unit before plugging in or operating. Operating unit with
less than 2 liters (0.5 gallons) of water will cause unit to
overheat.
Use only cool water when filling unit.
3. Fill the tank with cool water to the desired cup level. Cup
level markings are located on the front liquid level tube.
NOTE: The unit makes 2.3–7.0 liters (13–40 servings) of
brewed coffee or tea. DO NOT overfill or underfill the
unit. Fill according to the markings on the liquid level
tube for the number of cups desired. One serving
equals 0.24 l (five fluid ounces) of brewed coffee or tea.
4. Moisten the coffee/tea basket to keep small particles from
sifting through.
5. Add the desired amount of ground coffee or tea to the
coffe/tea basket (for coffee, refer to the "Coffee Brewing
Chart"). The amounts can be varied to suit taste.
6. Insert the top of pumping tube assembly up through the
bottom hole of the coffee/tea basket. Cover the coffee/tea
basket with the spreader cover.
7. Hold the top end of the pumping tube assembly and place
the tube with the coffe/tea basket into the unit. Make sure
the bottom of the pumping tube assembly is positioned
properly in the center of the tank inside the percolation well.
