Configuring The Network Parameters - Coyote Point Systems Equalizer Installation And Administration Manual

To select a menu item within the configuration utility, use the arrow keys to highlight
the item you want. If the arrow keys don't operate within your terminal emulator, you
can use CTRL-n to select the next menu item or CTRL-p to select the previous menu
item. Use the Tab key to choose between the menu actions displayed at the bottom of
the window, such as Select or Cancel, and press ENTER to continue.

Configuring the Network Parameters

To configure the Hostname, Network Interfaces, Default Router, and DNS:
1. In the Equalizer Configuration Menu window, select option 3, Interfaces, and press
ENTER. The Configure Network Interfaces window is displayed.

| Assign an IP address on the external network to the external
| interface and an IP address on the internal network to the
| internal interface. The internal network is the network the
| servers are attached to, the external network is the network which is
| closest to the internet router. Assign the appropriate netmask to each
| interface, as well as a fully qualified hostname. Set the default gateway |
| to the IP address of the router on the external network.

2. Use the arrow keys to highlight fxp0 and press ENTER. This displays the Network
Configuration window shown in Figure 14.

3. In the Host field, enter the fully qualified name for the Equalizer on your network. For
example, Equalizer.mynet.com. Use the Tab key to move between fields in this
dialog.
