Select the timer (Daily
Timer or Recording
Timer) with the source to
play.
On the unit:
Press 4 PREV. or ¢ NEXT to select the
timer, then press CLOCK/TIMER.
• Each time you press (¢) or (4), the
timer mode and the source change as follows:
TUNER
DAILY
TAPE
DAILY
TUNER: Tunes in to the last station you were
DAILY
listening to. (Daily Timer)
TUNER : Records the last station you were listening
REC
to. (Recording Timer).
• Put a recordable cassette into the deck.
CD
: Plays a disc. (Daily Timer)
DAILY
• Load a disc.
TAPE : Plays a tape. (Daily Timer)
DAILY
• Make sure that the tape is in the
cassette deck.
• Make sure that the tape direction is
correct.
The unit enters the volume level setting mode.

Select the volume level.
On the unit:
Press 4 PREV. or ¢ NEXT to set the volume level,
then press CLOCK/TIMER.
• You can select the volume level ("VOLUME --" and
"VOLUME 0" to "VOLUME 30").
If you select "VOLUME--," the volume is set to the
previous level when the unit was turned off.
• To turn off the volume while the Recording Timer
(
TUNER) is working, set the volume level

"VOLUME 0".
The unit enters the clock setting mode.

Adjust the clock if you need.
• See "Setting the Clock" on page 9.

Press
STANDBY/ON (or
STANDBY/ON on the unit) to
turn off the unit (standby) if you
have set the timer with the unit
turned on.
• When the timer turns on the unit, the
indicator starts flashing. (If the Recording Timer is
selected in step 4, the REC indicator also starts
flashing.)
To deactivate the timer temporarily,
press and hold CLOCK/TIMER on the unit
until the
(timer) indicator on the display
goes off.
To activate or change the timer (with the previous
setting), follow steps 1 to 7 on pages 28 and 29
• If you want to change the timer setting after the Daily
Timer has been set, deactivate the timer then set it again.
• If the unit is turned on when the on-time comes
Timer does not work.
• Even if you unplug the power cord or if a power failure
occurs
The timer will be cancelled. You need set the clock first,
then the timer again.
